Focus on perfection with Lunettes

Having the perfect pair of glasses isn’t just about a stylish and attractive frame. It’s also about a well-measured prescription and the very finest in lenses. That’s why we are pleased to offer you the best vision evaluation service with one of our on-staff master opticians in Berlin. And we speak your language.

We can also double-check your existing ophthalmologist or eye doctor’s recommendations. Some doctors suggest a new evaluation every year, depending on your needs and eye condition.

Technology is great, but tradition is also important. Part of that is the great service we strive to attain in each customer interaction. It also extends to our embrace of eyewear from history, and to the traditional methods we use to measure your eyesight.

We know you might be used to speedy computerized eye exams at high street glasses shops, so we’d like to tell you a little about our technique.

It’s called Subjective Refraction, and it allows our master opticians to individualize the evaluation for your prescription glasses. For the test you will wear a pair of manual refraction glasses that allow us to combine different lens strengths and variations to discover the customized correction glass that best suits your vision needs. The optician will change these lenses as you respond to visual cues and read from an eye chart, all the while seated in comfort and style.

This manual process encourages  a conversational yet in-depth back-and-forth between client and qualified optician, allowing us to fine-tune the optical prescription, including night vision and computer reading variations.

This experience is relaxed, and we hope that you will be, too. Your physical and mental state at the time of examination should be factored in, for the best possible comfort and accurate measurement.

If you wear contact lenses, please do not wear them to your eye test. While you are not required to have an appointment, making one will ensure you never have to wait for a place. If you chose to drop in one day, we appreciate it if you can come minimum one hour before our closing time so that we have time to accommodate you in one of our Berlin stores.

You can’t put a price on perfection; that’s why our eye tests are free of cost, and free from stress, too.

Once your vision has been checked with an eye exam, and your preferences have been noted, we will finish your prescription lenses using high-quality Zeiss glass from Germany.  Our master opticians will speak with you about the various lens thickness and coating options available for your eyeglasses or sunglasses.

Optical services are currently available for customers in our Mitte in English and German, and Charlottenburg (English, French, German) stores in Berlin, Germany. If you aren’t in Berlin, simply send us your prescription and our specialists can finish your glasses and sunglasses to the complete specifications.
